I came to yoga in 2023 during a challenging time—struggling in my relationship and with my sense of self. Yoga didn't transform everything overnight. It was an on-and-off journey, sometimes flowing easily, often requiring effort. There were stretches when I skipped classes, but I always found my way back. I'm sharing this because I know exactly what it feels like to wonder if yoga is truly for you.

Fast forward to 2026, and I've almost completed my 200-hour Yoga Instructor Certification from Vyasa Singapore. Through my continuing journey, I've discovered what kind of space I want to create—one that feels accessible, personal, and welcoming to beginners and beyond.

My teaching style is gentle, guided, grounding, and real. No perfect poses, no pressure. Just breath, presence, and a space that feels safe and regulating.

As a Filipino living in Singapore, I also hold close to my heart our community of helpers who give so much of themselves so others can live comfortably. They too deserve a place to find calm and ground themselves—which is why Yoga for Helping Hands was born.

Outside of the mat, Christine's background is a mixture of science and humanities - she has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, has worked in the medcomms and AI-tech industries, has a passion for creative writing, and tries to keep her piano skills alive by playing every now and then.

What people say

M

"I love the class! I feel like I could do many variations of things and open up my body more at a comfortable pace. The corrections are really useful, especially questions like: where/if I feel tight - which help to know if I engage in the technique correctly or if we should do some variations to train other parts."

— Mabel

N

"The class is very beneficial to me. I feel relaxed and excited every time I join the class with Christine."

A

"The class was done at a good pace, that is easy to follow. The step by step instructions to get to the pose was extremely helpful, and we appreciate the additional information of the benefits of the poses, which muscles are working, and how to make it most effective. The session was also very relaxing, the voice is soothing!"

Questions

Frequently asked

Not at all! All of Christine's classes are designed to welcome complete beginners. She started yoga just three years ago herself, so she truly meets you where you are — no judgment, no pressure.

Comfortable, stretchy clothes you can move in freely and confidently. For in-person sessions, bring your yoga mat, a small towel and water. For studio sessions, a mat is provided — but you're welcome to bring your own. All props are supplied.

Sessions can be specified either to be East Coast Park (~15 min walk from Siglap MRT) and the Kallang Riverside Park area (~15 min walk from Lavender MRT). The short walk will be a good warm up. The exact meeting spot is shared upon booking confirmation. Both locations are accessible by MRT and bus.

If there is heavy rain or thunder, the session will be rescheduled at no extra charge. Your safety and comfort always come first. Christine will be in touch the evening before if weather looks uncertain.

This class is specifically for domestic helpers / household service workers in Singapore. Christine is Filipino herself and created this as a heartfelt way to give back to a community that gives so much. The small cost covers venue cost and Christine's transport.

Not yet since my schedule is not fixed and I'm just starting. Hopefully in the future, if there is more demand, I can offer this too.

Christine loves small group sessions - it allows everyone to be comfortable and allows her to provide enough attention for each person.

Christine is almost done with her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) from Vyasa Singapore. She is fully transparent about being in training and brings deep care and preparation to every session.
